Position: R&D Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
This is an individual contributor position reporting to the IG Product Validation Group manager. This candidate will provide a PV individual contributor role in all the testing activities of the IG Business Unit Products, which encompass Synthesis and Place & Route Optimization EDA tools. This includes defining the test strategy; project planning and the creation, execution and automation of test cases. The candidate will also be expected to play an active role in the maintenance and analysis of the suite of Product Validation group regression test environment. The candidate should be able to communicate clearly to work with peers from Product Validation, Development, Application support and Marketing groups. The candidate is responsible for establishing personal timetables that supports the assigned project goals.
Job Requirements:
Require a minimum of 2 years experience in a EDA too Product Validation or development role, or ASIC/Chip design. Design experience should include ASIC design, and place & route. A good knowledge of timing optimization and signal integrity issues and solutions is considered a strong plus. Familiarity with QA procedures and S/W development methodologies is a strong plus. The candidate must exhibit very good problem analysis skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are desired. Familiarity with VHDL and Verilog design languages is a plus. BSEE, MSEE/MSCE or comparable degree is required.

Position: R&D Engineer, Sr I
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible to support software development, integration and release, life cycle automation, and configuration management for the global Synopsys R&D teams. S/he must be able to understand the build and test process, rapidly determine the source of problems and to get issues resolved promptly. The software integration process involves build and regression efforts on multiple OS platforms. S/he should proactively contribute to the organization by providing a long term solutions for the issues, conform the predefined process standards, extend the user knowledge base by writing document, and clearly communicate to the global Product Engineering teams.
Job Requirements:
Must have BS in CS with 3+ years of relevant experience, MS in CS with 1-2 years of relevant experience. Must have skills: Strong knowledge in UNIX, experience in perl, shell scripting languages, programming languages including C and C++, software integration and release, build tools (make/gmake, etc), and software configuration management tools (RCS, CVS, Clearcase, Perforce, etc). Must have strong problem solving skills, be detail and process oriented. Desirable skills: Understanding of web services (html, cgi, java, etc). It is essential that the individual possess good communication skill.
